Price? Reported analysis? Ingredients? How fresh the food is? Where it comes from maybe? The bottom line on deciding on a pellet food is probably trying to achieve a balanced combination of all these arguments. We hope Premium pellets can give you food for thought. Kusuri Premium again fills a requirement we feel, for a very high quality Koi food manufactured on a fresh regular basis in the UK. A food sensibly priced which has just about everything beneficial included in a cyprinid diet, a spectrum of beneficial ingredients unsurpassed by any other food made anywhere in the world. Made exclusively to our own researched formulation, we do not use any chemical colour enhancers or substitute proteins.
Koi have quite strict requirements for lipids, fibre, minerals, vitamins and protein. Some ingredients will supply essential lipids, fibre, minerals, vitamins and amino acids, but alone, lack the required levels that are needed for Koi.
In fact, the presence of certain excess Amino acids can have detrimental effects on the rate of growth. For example, high levels of Isoleucine are known to reduce the growth rate on carp. We have formulated our food to provide the correct balance of all the major requirements for Koi. Additionally Kusuri foods are the only ones available with Kusuri Klay included - research proven for better growth, colour, and aiding the prevention of stress protein production.

Included are the immune enhancing properties of propolis, garlic and brewers yeast. Kusuri Premium is formulated for low waste and low nitrogenous output, as well as high growth, with natural chemical free colour enhancement. Also included is a generous amount of wheatgerm, along with the improved nutrient assimilation properties of Kusuri Klay. We advise no minimum feeding temperature, although we do thoroughly recommend that feeding is dramatically reduced below 10°C (50°F). Stocked in medium pellets.

Following on from years of research, Kusuri have developed new Kusuri Growth food. Kusuri Growth food contains the highest quality proteins to promote rapid growth, without the risk of any build up of fat deposits inside the body of the fish.

As with all of the Kusuri food range, the primary consideration was to produce a natural dietary pellet for Koi. They have developed a precise blend of lipids and other vital nutritional ingredients to promote both rapid growth and good body shape. For best results, this high protein food should be fed when the water temperature is above 20°C. Small volumes of food throughout the day is the preferred method of promoting the potential for maximum growth, whilst maintaining water quality.

When feeding larger Koi (3 years and older), Kusuri Growth food can be mixed with Premium, Multiseason or Supersilk-20 for best results. Stocked as a medium pellet .

Silkworm protein is acknowledged by Japanese breeders as the ultimate ingredient for feeding and for colour improvement of Koi, Silkworm pupae have a unique type of protein and silk oil properties that koi can digest easily.With all of the Premium food properties, plus added Silkworm pupae ingredients, this food is ideal for any koi pond. With 38% protein properties we advise feeding down to 15°C with no adverse effects, and reduced down to little feeding at 12°C.

Supersilk-20 can be mixed with Multiseason for minimal waste, superb growth, and excellent colour enhancement for your koi. Stocked in medium pellets.
